Credits:
All videos used in official Youth Spring: The Movie releases should be credited at the end of the movie according to the creator’s TikTok username.

Rights/Permission:
By hashtagging your post, it is understood that you are giving permission to use your video in the movie/project and expect no compensation in return. As with all participation in this collective venture, including production, editing, promotion, etc., your contribution is entirely voluntary.

Ownership:
This is a Creative Commons initiative and, once finished, will be made available to watch for free online, and on TikTok. There will be absolutely no ownership (by person or entity) of any film(s) resulting from the curation/compilation process. They will be just that: mere curations.

Hold Harmless:
Now on to the ugly stuff. As much as we wish things were different, any speech considered even semi-political these days puts the person voicing it at risk of getting called out, canceled, doxxed, or worse. While we have no way of knowing or controlling what the reactions to this project will be, we do want to acknowledge the risk that goes along with any kind of speech that might be perceived and/or construed as controversial. With that said, participants assume all risk associated with their involvement in this project. Minors are especially encouraged to consult with parents/guardians/mentors.

The films that come out of this project will be fictional. The essay in the suggested plot should be considered no more than an element of that fiction. The only action hoped for or encouraged is participants contributing fictional accounts for the film and then reflecting on what those (and all other) fictional accounts have to tell us.

Additionally, any movements, actions, or activist endeavors that take shape after and/or claim to have taken inspiration from this project or its product, for all legal intents and purposes, should be considered independent of this project (as well as independent of Don’t Look Up – again), and any participation in those endeavors should be considered separate from this project. We cannot, nor should you let us, take credit for doing what it actually takes to win your future. When that victory is won, the credit will be all yours. All that can be said for us is that we had a good idea for a movie.

This is an experiment – in filmmaking, in consciousness raising, in imagining a different future. Contributions are welcome but not expected. Any involvement in this experiment is voluntary. The goal is exclusively to get young people thinking. About the years and decades ahead of them. About writing a different story from the one currently being written.
